Hello and welcome

I am an eco-conscious textile enthusiast obsessed with all things fibre. Throughout this blog I intend to explore and document as many different fibres as possible from source to finished project. I never profess to be the most experienced crafts-person, being mostly self taught and as fibre is my hobby, not my job, I have limited time to devote to it (sadly!). I aim to keep this blog fibre focused, however I enjoy most crafts/DIY’s and never say no to trying something new, so I may occasionally post other crafty projects that have diverted my attention!

New blog post & video out! Gotland Gloves, the latest wool witchery to come off my needles. These were such good fun to make that I want to add locks to all my cuffs and collars now! Had a wonderful time yesterday @eastangliayarnfestival chatting wool with lovely people and came away with some knitting patterns, gorgeous fibre to spin, dyestuffs and haberdashery. Now to start tackling my project list.... I've finally finished the Victorian cycling jumper I've been working on over the past 2 years! I've calculated it took me a minimum of 230 hours to card, spin, ply and knit (#slowfashion) , but it was definitely worth it. WIP Wednesday! This is a sneak peak at the latest wool witchery that's been on my needles. A simple pattern I've made up as I go for an experiment in embellishing. The yarn is the spindle spun 2 ply Gotland that I finished during TDF last year. Happy St. Distaff's Day! I was incredibly lucky to have my name drawn in the #wovember2023 prize draw earlier this month and these lovely goodies including some gorgeous Shetland yarn have travelled all the way from America (lots of yarn squishing has been happening since the parcel arrived!).
